Kammy promised her Mom that her live-in boyfriend wasn't hitting her. However, Kammy's mother, Tammy, knew her excuses. Especially when Kammy had a black eye to the point where the blood vessels in her eyes was broken. Kammy blamed this on dropping a box on her face at work. More physical signs of abuse were showing on Kammy and it frustrated Tammy that she wasn't hearing the truth about the abuse. Kammy agreed to be seen by the doctor when Tammy expressed her concern about her clumsiness. There was an MRI suggested being scheduled for a later time unfortunately, that never happened.

March 31, 2017 at 3 am the neighbors were distrubed by loud nosies and yelling. Puting it off on thinking it was cat, they didn't further investiagate the situation. A couple hours later the police recived a phone call from Kammy's boyfriend Anthony saying he found his girlfriend dead in the bathroom when he woke up. Despite foresenice evidence, it proved differently. Anthony killed Kammy by blunt force trauma to her head. Anthony even went as far is to to try to cover up the crime scene.  It was discovered that Anthony had previous violent offenses. 24 hours of the murder Anthnoy was arrested for Kammy murder. He was labled as a "habitually violent offender" by the prosecution and after three years he pleaded guilty. Anthony was senteced two- 5 years to life sentences. Tammy didn't want Kammy's death to be in vain. Wanting her voice to be heard, Tammy started the Kammy Mae Foundation.  Kammy Mae Founation has honored Kammy's memory by giving back. Holding clothing drives, Tammy was able to donate the items they collected to the Women's Shelter.

Kammy was described to have a smile that could light a room and hugs that would make you feel safe and loved. A genuine friend, an angel on Earth was another loving way Kammy was described. She was also the mother of two small children who had their mother senselessly taken from them. It is clear how much Kammy loved and cared for her children. Kammy's mother, Tammy is making sure she continues to have the best life for her children and moves on.
