"I killed her," Gabino Genao announced to estranged wife, Iveliss Alvarado's mother before he fled.

Iveliss also know as "Evy" returned to home to New York to enjoy family and friends for the holiday weekend but unfortunaly Gabino had other plans. Gabino showed up unannounced and uninvited to the family reunion. During this time, Gabino pleaded with Iveliss to reconcile their marriage. Iveliss was not intersted in reconiling her realtionship with Gabino, this infruated Gabino. He began to punch Iveliss. When Iveliss' cousin tried to step in, Gabino assualted her cousin. With in those few moments, Gabino was able to start shooting Iveliss mutipule times, killing her. After a week long manhunt, the police where able to charge Gabino. He eventually pleaded guitly and was given 20 years to life in prison for Iveliss' murder. His criminal record includes robbery, and a protection order that was violated. Iveliss' sister felt the legal system failed them. Iveliss was a hard working mother of two that went to college to make sure she could provide for both her daughters. Iveliss was loved by her family and friends.
