Courtney Camille Cox passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Atlanta Georgia. Courtney was the daughter of Dr. Barbara Mebane and Mr. Dennis Cox. Courtney was educated in Indianapolis at St. Richard's School and the International School of Indiana, graduating in 2008 with an International Baccalaureate diploma. In 2012, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in French and International Studies from Spelman College. Courtney graduated from Spelman, as a Top Ten Scholar, a summa cum laude Latin honors designee, and an inductee in the Phi Beta Kappa Society.After graduating from Spelman, Courtney taught English in the Champagne region of France before entering Georgetown University Law Center. At Georgetown, she served as the Senior Online Content Editor for the Georgetown Journal of International Law and was a member of the Georgetown Black Law Students Association. Courtney graduated cum laude in May 2016. After successfully passing the bar, she joined the firm of Paul Hastings, LLP (Atlanta office) in October 2016, working there until the time of her demise.

Courtney leaves to mourn her earthly absence, her parents, Dr. Barbara Mebane and Mr. Dennis Cox (Paula); her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Eva Gill Bryant (Hamden, Connecticut); her sisters, Stacia (Darnell) Williams, Denise Cox, Danelle Cox, Sherelle, Cox, Janelle Cox, and Uriah Taylor all of Anderson, Indiana; her aunts, Evangelita Bryant Thomas (Hamden, Connecticut); Pamela Cox Youngblood (Anderson, Indiana); her uncle, Malcolm Cox (Anderson, Indiana); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; "Mr. Wade", childhood and adult friends, Spelman sisters, Morehouse brothers, and Paul Hastings colleagues.Services will be held at Flanner Buchanan, Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, IN 46228 on October 30, 2021 at Noon with calling one hour prior to service. Masks are recommended.
